| Has anyone purchased any?? What are some of the best brands I should check out?? |
| I have a set of ESS NVG goggles. They sit on top of my pro-tec right now. Actually had to use them last hurricane season, or maybe the one before, cutting limbs and such. Ventilated well, and I suppose protected my eyeballs well, as I still have two functioning this very minute. |
| I have a pair of ESS Advancers. Pretty nice.. The set I got came with clear lenses, yellow tinted lenses, and black lenses. It's got a cool feature where the lenses can either be opened up a little bit to allow airflow and prevent fogging, or fully closed to keep things like sand from getting in your eyes. I'm pretty happy with them. |

They supposedly stopped a 22 mag shot through glass at an officer serving a warrant. |
| Haven't used Revision goggles but their glasses are pretty good. They fit well and I use them when I ride too. But they're made solid which I hope bodes well for goggles. Also, i have to go with ESS for the goggles, I used them daily in Iraq and they stood up to wind, rain, overpressure, sand, heat and are still good. I still use them to ride back home during inclement weather. |

They're apparently rated well above the mil-spec requirements for shrapnel protection and the like. |

I wore these during my deployment: Revision Sawfly. Didn't have any impacts on them, so I can't comment on their toughness (according to revision's description, they can take a shotgun blast from 16 ft), but I really liked them as someone who is nearsighted. The nose piece lets you snap prescription lenses right in or out, unlike my ESS ICEs, where you had to remove the nose piece from the lens first. And they were comfortable and never fogged up, so I'm pretty happy with them.
