| Anybody using a Thermite as a holster? I'm needing some way of keeping a G19 close by (not trying IWB on the beach). There is no mention of hook&loop for the holster at Maxpedition's website. I also want to be able to put other items (PDA, camera, other tourista stuff) in, so I want the pistol to be separate from the main compartment. Does the Thermite do this? |
| Unless you're carrying something about the size of a Kel-Tec or MAYBE a J-frame revolver, forget the Maxpedition Thermite unless you plant to put the gun in the main compartment. It's just too small and tight to get anything of size in or out in any timeframe approaching useful. |

That's what I was afraid of. I found MM's review where he shows a 19 in the padded mesh-backed compartment, but there's no internal holster and it doesn't look like it has a hoop patch for securing a holster to it.
I didn't want something as huge as a Jumbo or Fatboy, but to get the holster I may have to. ETA: I went ahead and ordered a Fatboy S. Guess I'll just have to cram more crap in it, which is easy to do with a wife and two critters. |
