I need a chest rig for a carbine course, I am looking for a conformable rig that can hold four mags with bungee straps. I can not decide between Tactical Tailors MAV Vest Body 2 Piece with X Harness, or ATS M4 Modular Chest Harness. I have read the tacked thread on chest rigs, but could not find any reviews.

I really like my ATS chest rig.  It has a good amount of real estate for adding pouches too.

high speed gear makes a nice one too.  But it hold more then 4 mags, although you could carry just 4.

How do you like the straps, are they padded, do they cut into you shoulders after time? I like the ATS rig better, but the x harness looks more comfortable.

Check out the EE and look at the HSGI popper.  Pretty neat stuff.  It gives you everything you need for almost any class.  I don't own one yet, but I think Custom-X did a review on them, and said they are pretty good.

I have the 2-piece MAV with X-harness and center adapter. On it I have mounted TT mag shingles with bungie attachments. I love it. Worked out well for my carbine class. The mags stay pretty secure even without the bungee.

I was going to go with the SKD/Eagle Howe rig, but with the MAV I can customize it any way I like.

Here is is before I added the center adapter:

I'm high drag/low speed, but will concur.  My only 2 rigs consist of a Popper and the SKD Eagle setup.  Both sound like they would serve your purposes well.  I wanted reasonably streamlined mag/IFAK setups (with added pouch), and that's just what they are.

Many have added bungie straps to the SKD Eagle themselves, and I may do the same unless they market a retrofit kit.  HINT HINT in case any SKD folks are reading this thread.

Well when I go to the DCNC Carbine class next weekend I will be putting my "Popper" through its paces with my AK. (unless Gene hooks me up with something special.. )
It worked really well at the last carbine class in March when I ran my AR. I used 4 mags most of the time, but added the extra 2 when needed.
Here's My Review
