| Check this out. I'm looking for opinions for this. Those that have direct knowledge of the product. Thanks. |

i've had one for about a year. wear it for training. its held up pretty well through some carbine courses and a swat course. since my dept wont issue squat, i'd also use it for work if necessary. i dont have experience with anything fancy so i cant compare. i took the padded panels out of it and put some old lvl 2 panels in there instead. fit just fine. i'd add plates if i had em. for me, it was a pretty good investment for my occasional use. i dont suspect it'd fall apart for what i put it through. BTW i'm 6'00" 210 lbs. and i had to cinch up the shoulder straps to get the height to ride right. other than that, it fits me just fine. |

I only think it comes in one size. I got mine just a little while back. It's made of some really tough materials and stiches too, I don't imagine this thing is going to fall apart even after some rough use. It is really big though. Considering that I'm 6'0" 155 lbs, it's actually more than just a little big. It snugs up some once you put on a BDU jacket and I imagine it would snug up some more if you had plates to put in it. The only thing I don't like about it is all the velcro. When I bend around the velcro rustles some. I really don't like how the shoulder straps are held on to the front just by velcro and two really shitty buckles, I guess that was their idea of a cheap and easy to design "adjustment/quick release" system. Like some others have said, modification would help make this vest a little more comfortable. I like it overall though. The quality is better than I expected, and I would definately recommend it, if it suits your needs. oh, and it's made by Condor. |
This is where all of my modifications came into play and yes, I am going to get updated pics of it tonight and post them with the IBA additives. The problem with putting plates in it is it is a lot of weight. If it still isn't snug enough (which it wasn't for me at 6' 0" and 160-170 lbs.) then it will shift around even more in movement and puts ALL of its weight on your shoulders. My vest has been trimmed down drastically (about 3-4" out of each side) and the shoulders are raised about 2" higher than is possible with the original configuration explaining the bigger neck gusset and the modified shoulder straps. With it snug enough, I also hated the velcro tearing noise from just turning, let alone bending over. Now each side has three fastex buckles and there is absolutely zero noise in movement. Like I said, I'll have time to get pics taken and post them tonight. |

I don't have any plates, but I definately hear you on the weight issue. I took a run in mine today and man are these things heavy! The pouches were even empty and my mags weren't even loaded. russbunny, it looks like you cut off about half of the side panel. You aren't kidding, that really is some drastic modification. |
Oh really fool? New thread full of pics, as requested right here! |
