We all have our thoughts on the Old Alice Packs, good or bad.  The new wave seems to be the commercial three day packs for many reasons.  They have their place no doubt.

This thread is hopefully to discuss the surplus Molle II pack system.  Who can give much input on the use, pro / con, etc of the systems?

ive seen two diff ones.  the old one that has the separate bag for your sleeping bag, and a newer one that has the sleeping bag compartment built in.  once i used an internal frame, i never went back.  the cfp90 field packs would be good.  a karrimor sabre is what i been eyeballing, british bergen style.  eberlestocks are good too.

Junk

There have been several versons of the MOLLE Pack(not including the ILBE),  They got better as time got on, but still not that good.

For example:
Heavy and large, even empty.
Frame breaks easily.

I keep saying this, and no one wants to listen to me. Between the trainup for OIF1 and the year over there in a rifle company, I saw three cracked MOLLE frames out of 120-odd guys, and they were all broken the same way, dropping them out of trucks when we got back to the company base camp after one outpost job or another. The frame doesn't do impact on hard surfaces well.
