I am looking for this thread, I can't for the life of me find it, I checked the search, archive, can't find a damn thing. Anyone have a link or some info on this thing? I am not looking for something for serious use as I have an IBA for that, just somethng to fool around with.

Just buy one

You can't go wrong for the money. I have soft armor panels and hard plates in mine.

You can hang a lot of crap off them. They are perfect for your stated purpose.

Galati apparently has come out with a similar one for perhaps ten more bucks. You might want to look into that one.
