Which version? SOTech Falcon, Mk1 SOTech Falcon, Mk3 I like that the hydration is integrated, dislike that the shoulders aren't padded. But since this was sized to go over body armor, that's not an issue. I am 5'10", 230#, 44" chest, 42" waist. It doesn't adjust small enough to fit tightly unless I have body armor on. Thus, for competition, it's marginal, since it's not anchored enough to allow for easy mag retrieval. Military folks I sell them too, however, love them. TimW Phoenix |

A lot depends on your sizing, as I and others have indicated here and on Lightfighter. While some can get away with it, this rig is really designed to be used over body armor. SOTech, however, has come out with a more modular rig, the Devil Rig, that is similar, but different: It's split-front like the Mk3 Falcon It's got a padded shoulder harness like used with their Hellcat System It's got a MOLLE hydration pouch for that harness, so it's removable. I was able to adjust this down enough to wear w/a shirt and used it for some light training I did with a local National Guard group. In fact, this unit will eventually buy a couple dozen from me to outfit their folks. It's also large enough to wear over armor, and the straps are extra-long so it can be jumped, too. (it was designed for an airborne unit). I don't have any pics of these yet, but if you shoot me an email address to me at timw (at) practicaltactical (dot) net I'll shoot you a copy of their spec sheet. I'll warn you that it's significantly more expensive than the Mk1 and Mk3 Falcons, due to the extra sewing involved with the shoulder harness and modular hydration pouch. I've got a batch on order, and I like it so much, one of them is mine and may end up replacing (sort of) my TT 2-piece MAV. TimW Phoenix |
