I have posted this over on SF, but wanted to post it here also.  I am looking for a good pack that will last a long time.  My son and I have planned a 3 day hiking trip of a lifetime on the Napali coast,  I am 6'2" and about 235.  This will be a regular hiking pack and also my BOB.

I am leaning toward the Kifaru Zulu or the ZXR.  Anyone have any experience with either of these packs?  I have read nothing but positive about Kifaru (once you get over the price) on the net.   Looking for personal experience with these packs or Kifaru in general.

Thanks
Doc

Edit to add; I also REALLY like 'Made in the USA"

the Zulu's are popular here, several guys have em. get the belt for it as it helps carry the load better

theres no excuse NOT to get a belt for this bag, it does form the bulk of the suspension capability of the bag.

First of all, if you have never been there you will not be disappointed. I hiked part of the Napali coast a few months ago and can't wait to go back and do the whole thing. As for the packs, I have the zulu, pointman, and ZXR and will be taking the pointman with me when I do the whole thing.  The ZXR is bigger then you'll need for three days.  Both the pointman and the zulu can hold more then enough for 3 days when you through on a few external pouches.  Between the zulu and the pointman, I love the zulu design, but wish it had the pointmans suspension.  When loaded with about the 40-45 lbs the pointman is much more comfortable then the zulu.  So there's my 2 cents.

Here's a pic from my trip there last October.  Don't forget your camera.
