Don't forget about the Multi-Cam ACU's Woot!Woot! BDU.com is a great place to deal with. 556mm |
These are "real" MultiCams as the fabric is provided by one of Crye's authorized fabric manufacturers. The MultiCam labels are on the garments also. Both are made of 65%Polyester/35%Cotton. As noted, the BDU is twill while the ACU is ripstop. Some of the other manufacturers out there went with the 50/50 NYCO which is NIR-compliant but is also more expensive. We figured that since the pattern is not officially used by the military, we would come out with the 65/35 Poly/Cotton since the primary markets would be domestic and did not need the NIR properties. The look and feel is similar to the 50/50 NYCO but we wanted to make it as affordable as possible. |
I noticed that too. For some reason the airforce camo pants and jackets are available in a different (better) size range, but the ACU/BDU series isn't. |
Thanks! I'll look into ordering them sometime soon. |
Yeah, although I can theoretically cut/hem the pants, in reality it doesn't work so well because the reinforced knees end up at the tops of my shins. OK when you buy an $8 pair of used woodycams, not so coll for a $30+ pair of pants.

6'3" (75") is at the upper scale of a long and lower scale of an extra-long. It's definitely not a regular. Also check the leg inseam: 32 1/2-35 1/2" is considered long. You can see the sizing charts here: Propper Sizing Charts |
Thanks... I'll go for a L/L then... |
I think which weight of fabric you want would be the deciding factor. Wouldn't the twill be kinda heavy for CA? I have a pair of sort of hiking pants that have those acu pockets on the lower leg, I can't see using them as it would bang around, though I have seen GIs keep stuff in there, seems like it'd be an annoyance unless you were just sitting down standing watch or something. |
Depends on the weave. I have a pair of the propper 65% Poly/35% cotton, brown BDU, pants and they are the most comfy pair i own. Very soft. |
