I know it is not tactical gear but I could not think of anyplace else to post this topic.

Can anyone recommend a good gun rest for bench shooting? I am looking for something to use at the range when zeroing or target shooting.

Thanks

OST

I like using a ruck for prone, but the local range only has benches, so I can't shoot prone.

OST = Old Style Tag.

I have several old bags used for birdshot, purchased from a guy who reloads 12 gauge shotshells. I filled them with beach sand and they work well!

For general use I use old 11-pound burlap rice bags. Easy-to-find, zip-up, handles, durable...

For accuracy, I use and would recommend a Bulls Bag from Uncle Bud's.  They're friggin awesome.

Check out a Caldwells "lead sled" or a Shooters Ridge. Cabelas has lots of different kinds. Cabelas says in catalog that Shooters Ridge will not handle a AR-15; but it will. Although will not drop 30rd mags, have to pick the gun up to drop the mag.
