Congrats on your first gear setup. Realize this will be the first of many and that "gear disease" is every bit as bad as "black rifle disease". Hehe.

But seriously, you can't go wrong with ALICE gear. I have a couple sets of them. And I also have some ALICE like rigs set up using duty belts and Blackhawk suspenders. I just prefer belts for carrying my gear over vests or other rigs that cover a large portion of my torso. I find them intolerable during hot weather. Belt rigs are much, much cooler.

I would think about moving your pistol mag pouches to the front left (weak hand) side of the rig, but other than that it works.

Ya kinda still working on gear placement. I need to gain some weight to get more room on the belt LOL. By the way I built that 1911, kinda proud of that. Thinking about doing another one.

Great 1911.

Good gear set-up, just good old plain meat and potatos you can't go wrong with good old ALICE.  I like ALICE gear for hiking and grizzly adams style bug-out (ie woods) it is also great for wearing over winter clothing (there are few uber new vest that wears as well over layers).

Great stuff...good set-up your chances for survival during the zombie apocalypse have increased.

If the belt is still too large, you could add on one of those pistol belt pads.

I picked up a setup like this using the H-style suspenders quite a few years ago, before MOLLE stuff was really around; I still have it.  I cut off the metal suspender hooks and replaced them with paracord, and replaced all the ALICE clips with black nylon cable ties.  It cuts down on weight and noise and keeps that crap from digging into you, especially if you have a ruck on.

Even if you move onto stuff that is more "high speed", you'll probably always keep this setup, just because it's simple and works.  Great for hot weather, too.

Do that. I hate alice clips. Either use zip ties or add some tactical tailor malice clips. Neither of them pinch you when you twist around.

Nice setup!

I too am in love with the simplicity and effectiveness of LC and ALICE setups.

I found that having canteens on the side/back are a pain. hydration packs are nice!

My deer hunting ALICE/LC-1 rig is pretty simple.

(left - back - right)
dump pouch
pistol mag pouch (one)
multi tool in a pistol pouch
canteen & cup
butt pack with essentials
pistol/revolver holster
compass pouch
jungle first aid pouch that I use for hold Bushnell binoculars

My setup is packed away right now, but, I would not trade it for anything.

Its light enough that I don't need suspenders.
