I bought one of these and tried it out last weekend. I got to tell you that this is an absolute must have as far as gear goes. I am a bit of a gearwhore but this one solves a couple of needs in one nice little package. I am a huge fan of TAD Gear and this is one the reasons why. I have purchased several items from them and everything to date is absolutely top notch. It provides just enough light to use as a personal lantern w/o burning your 100+ lumen flashlights' precious power. The neon bottle is just for show and tell as the red bottle is better for your night eyes and provides plenty of light. If you believe in consolidating your gear then this one is a must.

That's a cool idea. It doesn't add noticeable size to what you're packing and allows a relatively low powered light to illuminate an area. I guess it's because it's late, but I have this image of the bad part of the campground having red nalgenes with these lights attached sitting in front of certain tents... |
