I have seen all your picture posts, but I was wondering if you all could give a brief description of what you all run. For me, just a range trip I wear what ever camo BDU's or my ACU pants I feel like. At the range we are not overly tactical so I do not wanna stand out. I just go low profile lol. What rigs do you prefer? why? Holsters? Im just trying to get some new ideas of what I should keep my eye out for and try out! |

I think it depends on your application. If you go through the 10-8 Forum training threads, you can get a good idea of what guys are wearing in AR classes. If your interested in what guys are wearing in Iraq, check out Lightfighter. If your just talking range wear, the Eagle Chest Rig from SKD looks promising. I like the the Tactical Tailor 2 piece MAV as you can add the pouches where you want. And if your looking for grab & go, there's the Killer Gear Go-Bag. Once you figure out what your needs are, you need to try out your equipment. Most chest/vest rigs won't work with anything but a drop leg style holster (6004). They basically won't work with any belt worn gear. You can also go the sub-load route (drop-leg mags, etc.), but weights always a factor. Now what about plates or body armor? See how confusing it can all become? Here's what I like (although never really field tested). For plinking I wear a belt with drop leg 6004 holster, drop leg with 2 or 3 AR mags, and a dump pouch on the belt. From there, I can add plates or soft armor. Over that I can add a TT MAV with more gear. Or maybe just grap the go bag loaded with mags. Hope that helped. |
No problem. I spent hours researching this stuff for myself. You'll probably have to get a log-on for Lightfighter to use the search function or see any pics. Be careful overthere, the crowd can be a little ruff. |
