Great light, very good value. On the bed side table every night. Was mounted on the AR. Bright enough to blind a BG in the house and enough to sweep the yard.

i like mine.  they say battery life is one hour, so pick up some spares.  havent wore mine out yet though.  i carry mine on my duty belt w/the velcro pouch.  use it for inspecting vehicles, bright enough to see underneath with a mirror.

Unbeatable in that price range.  There are other similar lights like Dorcy and some other brands that are aiming for that market, but the original G2 is still the best for the money.  I hear the new ones have lockout tailcaps.  Wish mine had them!

The new ones (I bought mine 3 months ago) do indeed have the lockout tail caps.

Like everyone else said, you CANNOT beat this light at this price.

After owning one G2, I almost think they may replace the Mini Maglite for me.  You know, one in every glove box, backpack, drawer, toolbox, etc..  


Maybe not due to price, but they are a kick ass light.  Dont hesitate to buy one.

Drop a Nite-Ize $7 LED conversion module in your mini-mags and they'll have a whole new life.  All of mine have been converted.  Better beam, brighter beam, longer battery and bulb life.

The mini-mag is an excellent companion for the brighter G2.

I've been beating myself over deciding between the G2 and the Gerber TX 3.0.

The G2 is slightly brighter (51 lumens vs. 65 lumens), or significantly brighter, but the battery length is definitely in favor of the Gerber (4hrs+48hrs low light vs. 1 hr [or 20 minutes]).

AA batteries would definitely be easier to scrounge up in a zombie attack, too... but I haven't had heard many real-world reviews of the Gerber.

Stop with all this G2 talk.  The last thing I need is to buy another one of the damnable things.

I think the Gerber would be a good buy.  I haven't seen one of those around these parts, just the little single AA models.

Just saw this, the brown one is a really good looking light. My g/f swiped my brown one.

These lights are a great value. I think the plastic one with the grippy section at the bottom is a better pure tactical light, but the g2 is a lot easier to carry day to day.

I just picked up another G2 (black, lockout tailcap) for only $30, total at Elmore's Guns south of Indy on I-35.  That makes three G2s and one older 6Z, all of which use the wonderful P60 bulb for 65 lumens.

I'm thinking about getting the rechargeable battery and p90 (g90) bulb in the first kit on this page:

rechargeable 123 batts

It gives you brightness between the p60 and the p61, running time of more than 30min and is rechargeable.

Anyone here use this setup?

The most common incandescent SureFire® flashlight is the SureFire® 6P or G2. These lights both use the P60 bulb, which is a 6 volt incandescent bulb. This bulb CANNOT HANDLE the voltage of rechargeable batteries. Fortunately there is another option, the SureFire® P90 bulb, which can handle 9 volts of power and works very well with the 7.2 volts of power supplied by two rechargeable lithium batteries.

Well .. let me tell ya , I just got it , it's ok I guess !!! I got a brinkman legend LX that I got at walmart alittle over a year ago that thing is just as bright or brighter  then  the G2 and I only paid $ 20.00 for mine !!!


Dont see why ALL the hype for this light !!!
