I have a friend that needs a nice leather gun belt.
Something he can wear with jeans or with dockers.

He is driving me nuts!  He wears these PIECE OF CRAP belts that youd buy at a department store.
He bitches all the time about his back hurting etc etc well when I look at him carrying its clearly a result of his CHEAP FLIMMSY BELT!

He refuses to wear something like a Wilderness belt and yet I refuse to wear anything but my Wilderness MAN ARE THOSE THINGS GREAT!

Who makes a good quality leather belt without spending a bloody fortune?

Any sites you can give me the url to that I can send his way?

Aker.

Otherwise, Galco, Bianchi, etc.

None of these are cheap (compared to a generic W*M belt, let's say), but they are in line with many (overpriced, IMO) big-name "designer" belts...

Hellweg
Alessi
Kramer

I have the Hellweg 272L Dress Gun Belt 1 1/2" black leather.  Solid belt, I've had it for almost 10 years now w/ on and off use and it still looks good.  You can get them from Brownells for about $50.

I also have an Alessi 1 1/4" brown leather belt, also a solid belt w/ over 10 years of off/on use.  This one costs a bit more, I believe it was about $60 back then.

How about Rafter S Gunleather.
I have a cowhide belt from them that I have worn everyday for 3 yrs and it looks like a new belt. Highly recommended.

I haven't done any searching lately, but I bought my 1 1/2" double thickness horsehide belt from Ted Blocker about 8 years ago.  They had the best price I could find at the time.
It's still doing fine, daily wear and when I'm out and about it has supported a Sig 220, now a 1911 steel frame, plus extras.

Otherwise I would recommend the Wilderness CSM, which I wear everyday, but as you mentioned above, that is out of the question.
