thinking of grabbing that pack. USCAV says it's made in US. Any feedbacks ? thanks |

I bought one about 6 months ago. I have only used it a few times. Most the time it just rides in the back of my car. When I first got it, I loaded it up as full as I could, including water, and it was very comfortable. If I had to do it over, I would buy it again. Steve |

I bought one last summer and have used it a fair amount. It's as comfortable as any other small pack I've used (LBT, Blackhawk, etc) and I like the ability to put my snivel gear between the two outer sections, without it coming loose or taking up space inside the pack. That's my $.02 |

I've had a Talon for around a month or so. Great pack. There is teeny tiny label under the storm flap at the top inside that says it was made in the PI. Pockets are great, the gear hugger pouch is a good design, and 3L of water onboard is great, especially here in TX. If I load it up with ice in the morning the water will still be at least cool in the evening, and some days I've actually had ice still in the thing very late in the day. I've added a few pouches to the outside on the PALS webbing for GPS and mags, but I'd do that on pretty much any pack. PS-don't buy it from USCav. TAD Gear has them for $120, which beat the hell out of anybody else's price that i saw. |

I was aksing about this a little while back... archived link for those who can access it there was some decent information put out in there. |

Wish it came with a belt. Saw some guy with one at the airport, he looked like he was running to catch a connecting flight so I figured I couldn't tackle him to get a look at this pack. I doubt it's made in the US. I like my motherlode. These guys have great prices on camelbaks (and other stuff) www.elitetacticalsources.com/ |

1) My main point of contention with the Talon is the lack of a waist belt. The Talons size alone would suggest that it is to be used with a medium load, and if so, then why is it not made with a waist belt? 2) The rear / back pouch is not detachable, why? There are times when it is: not needed/in the way/not wanted. Velcro or a zipper would have fixed it. 3) The side zippered pockets are great, wish they'd do that on more of their packs 4) I owned a Talon, sold it and bought a Motherload. Guess ya gotta give up some things for others. Sua Sponte, Prib |
At some times I wish the thing had a belt too, but not real often. As for size and load, I guess that is a matter of perspective. The pack really isn't that big and from their promo work it is meant for "combat light" load, whatever that is. The reason the pouch isn't removeable is that it is supposed to hold larger items that can't fit in the pack. The closed bottom attachment keeps them from dropping out, while the other 6 straps secure it. |
| I think someone called Camelbak asking about the lack of waistbelt and got some "We have determined based on our conversations with our end users tha a belt is not needed" type double talk. I agree that the lack of a belt with this size model seems strange-my smaller Hawg and Transformer both have waistbelts. The lack of a waistbelt is what convinced me to buy a motherlode instead of the talon. |

They lost me when they made that statement and then when I mentioned that their smaller systems HAD waist belts, the woman on the other end of the conversation said something to the tune of "well, we're not changing it." Nice customer service attitude! All things being said though, Camelback's quality makes up for just about any shortcomings.
