What is the quality like with the Spec Ops Brand compared to Blackhawk and Eagle?

Spec Ops Brand is popular and made well. I do not feel it is nearly as well made as Eagle and their line is not nearly as well thought out as Blackhawk. They are, however, a good working gear company and their products are useful.

I have several Spec-Ops products.

At GunStock in October, one of the guys shook my hand and said "Thanks for supporting the brand!" when I told him I used some of their stuff.

Good enough for me!

Same story. It holds up pretty well and the prices are reasonable.

Made in the usa of cordura nylon.......yes they don't offer a wide variety of product like blackhawk but I've found what they do offer to function very well. I own their dry cell map case, dry cell on board, and mamba geronimo sling....all have worked well for me... Nicer then the viatnamese crap blackhawk puts out...

It's all made in America, and it's the best value for the $$$ in most cases.

I like the Battle Rig, MOUT Rig, and THE PACK.

I don't have experience with their products, but the guys who run the company could not be nicer.

I have THE PACK.

Damn well put together.  I think it will last as long as it could possibly be needed.

I would have no problem recommending it to anyone, for camping or going to the desert.

Spec Ops gear flat out rocks, their quality is second to none, and the CEO is a damn fine man and shooter.  If I need a pack or a pouch, and I haven't picked it up off a prize table at a match they sponsor, they are the company I look to first.  I love their wallet, THE Pack, and organizers.  Great stuff.  Buy with confidence.

Brad,

Are you kidding me? What does DarkChicken think up? They just wait for other companies to do all the R&D and then they have it knocked off in Viet Nam (by the same folks who tried to kill my Uncle and locked our GI's in fucking Tiger Cages)...

I can't wait for DarkChicken to use some of that deep thought to come out with a "R.A.D.E." (Rip-off Anglo Designed Equipment) pack, then you can sell them along side the "R.A.I.D." pack...

In case you missed it..

"...Their line is not nearly as well thought out". That is what I said and it is true. Blackhawk has the most comprehensive line of offerings that are or ever have been available under one roof. Everyone has an opinion about the origin of Blackhawk's products (I have one too) and everyone has an opinion about their country of manufacturer (I have one too) -- but to say that Blackhawk has the most well developed and rounded line of goods from which to choose, well, that is not anyone's opinion. That is the way it is. I don't know how it got to be that way and I don't know why other manufacturers haven't tried to mimick the success they have had with this diversification, but Blackhakw does have the most well developed line in this industry.

Didn't I see you weraing 5.11 Tactical pants at the SHOT show? I know I saw you wearing some in pictures on your website. Did you check to see where they were made? There is alot of business being done in that part of the world -- much of it is products you might not have thought to tlook at.

My brother, I am sorry about your mount being knocked off, but don't be mad at Blackhawk for copying people's gear. EVERYONE in the nylon industry, and I mean EVERYONE, even the names that you dare not to even think would, copy their lines from other people. EVERYONE. All of them. I have been around this crowd long enough to accept this.

Ok, I miss-read you and though you were saying that they were the ones putting original thought (ie R&D) into the designs. You are correct, they make/sell something for just about anyone (and in different colors). I think that the Black Water stuff is going to give them some heart-ache...it looks like good gear, is made here in the USA and has Uncle Mike’s (a HUGE company) to pay the bills.

You did see me in 5.11's and we bought them (over $7K worth) before they went to Viet Nam or Cambodia (Trust me, I am a tag reading sum-bitch). Because it's almost all shifted to Viet Nam, we have not placed any further orders with 5.11. I also sent them an e-mail letting them know my feeling on the matter and why I did not place the re-order.

I know you think I'm silly about this, but the whole country of origin thing is a huge deal with me as it has hurt many people I care very much about (as well as America in general). I pay alot to have my shoes all made in the USA or a NATO country and also with my clothes (to the extent we are looking into having a tailor do runs of pants and shirts for us). Also the whole thing of blatantly ripping off designs is juts plain chicken shit and I try to avoid doing work with people like that.
