Which is the best way to cvarry extra shells? Uncle Mikes has what looks like a nice neoprene buttstock carrier. Others use the side saddle, others on the cling. Which is preferred? Is the Uncle Mikes the best buttstock carrier?
Thanks

I really like the side saddle for extra shells.
They are easy to use and very easy to load rounds into the chamber from.
If you get one be very carful not to over tighten the screw that holds the side saddle on.
You can squeeze the receiver and make it so the gun will not operate.  I use a drop of locktight to keep mine on and that works great.

I have played with the butstock shell holders and I just can not find a good way to reload from it with out taking the gun off target. It will also block the sling mount on your stock. The best unit I have found was made by eagle.

A sling with extra shells on it seems like a great idea until the first time you try to use it.  There is just to much weight on the sling so it swings all over the place really throwing your aim off when you are going from target to target.
Hope this helps

I've got their stuff on my gun.  As I shoot left handed, I went with the 7 round side saddle, but they also make an 8 rounder.  It attaches with sticky-back velcro, so there is no issue of over-tightening screws, and messing up the receiver.

I also have their 2 round Slide-Pac.  It  holds two rounds on the right side, just ahead of the ejection port.  VERY fast to just grab a round and drop it in.  I usually have 7 rounds of S&B 2 3/4" - 12 Pellet 00 Buck on the left side, and 2 slugs in the Slide-Pac.

If I had a digital camera, I would take a pic and post it.  But alas, that is one toy that I have yet to acquire.......

Everything NoKarma says.

I did find a good use for the sling I was given.  I keep it full and it hangs in my bedroom closet.  I use it like a bandolier too.

I like the looks of the gear at that link Scollins posted.

My Benelli M1 in "Tactical Mode" wears a 6 round side saddle, 2 round 3-gun Gear "Slide-Pak", and a 6 round Buttstock carrier by Uncle Mikes.  The Buttstock carrier is the least efficient way to reload. During matches, I also use a Choate 6 round stripper on my belt.  The Choate system is the fastest in my experience  but you're not likely to have one in a home defense situation.  With all this gear I managed to run out of ammo on one stage at the Old Bridge Tactical Match I shot yesterday.  Too many extra shots.
