So I picked up this Wingmaster last year in a FTF deal here in the Tampa area. The seller said it was a 1975 model but from what I can tell from the two letter date code on the barrel, it's a 71.
Armslist Add Attached File Attached File My problem is that I'm concerned that the barrel might not be original but the overall consistent condition of the gun is excellent. Aside from the scratch under the Wingmaster logo. Also, does anyone know when the first year the LEO Folder was introduced? When did the Riot model come out? Just looking for some education on these older 870s. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I've seen factory-finished barrel supports that were purple-ish also. The mag clamp is newer though. Remington used a flat head screw back then. I'm not sure when they started offering them with the QD swivel.
I posted a couple years ago asking what year the PFS 87 was introduced, and didn't get an answer. Whoever answered the phone when I called Remington didn't know either. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_6_1/444927_What_year_did_Remington_introduce_the_PFS_87_factory_LE_folding_stock__UPDATE__Maybe_1976_.html Did you call Remington and ask what year that serial number was made? They may provide its original configuration as well. |
