Does anyone here have any experience with the Benelli 828U? I looked at one today and it felt like a great over-under.

Anyone have any good or bad things to say about it? My overall first impression is to buy buy buy.

Looking for a skeet/field gun.

Thanks.

I've shot and handled one for a day. Looked to be very good quality on par with a Browning Citori or Beretta 686. If it fits you, and you like its shape and styling, I'd think it will be good to go.

I don't know anyone personally shooting one, nor has it been on the market long enough to know if it will hold up to 100,000 rounds, but given Benelli's reputation in quality I would expect it to have a long shooting life.

I would say it would make a good field gun but way too light for a skeet gun.

I have only handled it but it is very light and way overpriced.

In that price range I would look at browning and beretta.

I have only handled and shot a single example.

It is very, very lightweight.  Like 28 gauge weight, but a 12 gauge.  More suitable in my opinion to a long grouse or pheasant hunt than any type of volume shooting.  I shot once ounce loads in it, and it packs a fairly decent slap.  I would not consider it for any type of serious clays shooting.

Yea I figured it was way too light for clays. I handled one and it felt amazing. I ended up ordering a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I Sporting. I know it's not the end all be all of skeet guns but people have been saying it can get the job done and still be good in the field

I agree. I was in a Field and Stream, it's a Dick's on steroids, yesterday. They had Gun Clubs on sale and I saw the Benelli. Way way too light.

I know many many here swear by  Benelli but  man o man Benelli's are priced high. At least the new SBE got rid of the Benelli click.
