I installed a DSF forend light on my 870P. If I hold the gun vertical my action opens about a quarter inch. Is that normal?

Yeah, it's just a heavy beast. "Patrol ready", the gun should be locked and the chamber empty anyway. If you haven't shot it yet, give your hand on the forend a good 1.5" space backward of the light, and make sure you get your body behind the gun. That forend will bite the web of your hand pretty good if you are used to the regular forends. The first night I took mine out, I thought I broke my damn hand after a couple tubes full of buckshot. It's not a problem anymore. http://i1072.photobucket.com/albums/w361/tfhaz/20161007_083810_zpszhwhj6if.jpg |
