I recently bought a new/used KSG 12 from a local guy. I didn't get a chance to shoot it . But I tried cycling with shells and it didn't go too well.

I would rack it, would load a shell, rerack drop the shell but not pick up another shell. Rack again it would pick up a shell.

So to shoot it I would have to rack it twice for each round.

Anyone else have this problem?  Or for some reason do I actually need the shells to be shot before it picks up a new round?

Thanks

Well.. Every pump shotgun I've used does not require you to actually shoot it to cycle (eject chambered shell and chamber new shell).

This sounds like an issue affecting their earlier models. Reach out to Keltec for some insight - they may have some tips, updated parts to send ya, or just replace the unit.

Yep, mine works fine, but it's a Gen.2 .

mine is a gen 2. It has the little slots on the tubes.

Just tried on mine. No issues.

Eta: after reading the below responses, yeah I was manhandling it pretty good as well.

I find that with mine you can't rack it slow or gentle. You have to manhandle the rack and make it your batch. Hollywood style.

If you're too gentle with my UTS, it will do the same thing. I can replicate this on my Mossberg 500 easily enough, though, its just part of how the ejector works.

I have been pumping it like it owes me money. It has gotten better. I guess I was too easy on it. I usually have like one that doesn't load per tube now.
Just need some practice with it at the range.
