I picked up a great deal on a Urbino stock, cheek riser, limbsaver and a shell holder for the riser. A few questions though. It has an ambi sling adapter that goes through the middle of the stock and it's got a fair amount of wiggle/side to side movement to it.  Is this normal?

I like the feel of the pistol grip but I read somewhere that a Benelli pistol grip (from brownells ) is a little thinner. How does the pistol grip come off??

Thanks !!

The play is normal, at least on mine. the grip does feel wide to me "I run a large grip on my m&p and feel comfortable with the M grip. Overall I love my stock though! Shooting my 870 with 3 inch slugs is very manageable.

The grip is held on with glue. It's glued onto a round plastic tube. I replaced mine with one from Benelli and like it much better. The original (urbino grip) was very uncomfortable in the web of my hand between my thumb and index finger.

So I literally rip off the old one and glue on the new one?

More or less, yes. You can get it started with a small screwdriver and just keep pulling and working it loose. I removed mine without destroying it.
The part I replaced mine with was Benelli Part # 70084 (Rubber Grip Insert for M4) from MGW.

Been a year or so ago. IIRC. I used a little silicone.

I fixed the movement in the sling adapter on mine with a piece of electrical tape. I noticed on the mounting bolt that there was a tiny worn area indicating where the sling adapter was knocking around on it. I just wrapped the mounting bolt with about an inch and a half to two inches of tape and it was enough to completely eliminate the rattle. I figure after a while the stress on the sling adapter from a sling will wear out the tape and I will just replace it. However if I don't use the sling adapter I figure it should last a while.

Replace that grip asap with the factory benelli grip. It makes a world of difference and comfort.
I think midway carries it still.
