I bought a Remington 1100 which was a club gun at a trap range which probably hasn't had more than one shell loaded in it since it was bought.
I took it to the range after refinishing it and I loaded the mag tube with one in the chamber. After the first shot, all the shells in the magazine tube dumped into the receiver, causing a malfunction. Any ideas where to begin on the diagnosis? |

first a warning... the rail slot the bolt carrier rides in inside an 1100 is razor sharp... check out parts 43, and 60... with the two pins removed, the trigger group comes out... with the shotgun rolled upside down, check that the tip of the feed latch #43 is not broken... it is staked to the ejection port side of the shotgun...they often come loose... likewise check for anything broken on the interceptor latch # 60

Part 58. 59.and 60 from Brownells
The spring is staked in place on the receiver. A ground to fit punch will push out the old spring, an automatic center punch can be used to re-stake. |
