Hey guys, wondering if you can help me with something.  I have a Remington Versa Max tactical that I'm using for home defense.  After I got Steve Rose to chop the barrel down to the minimal 18" length and re-thread it for Rem Chokes, I installed a Nordic Components magazine tube to match the new barrel length.

My question: are there any aftermarket loading gates that are non-forked?  When loading shells, the fork tries to skewer my thumb.  I tried to do a search but couldn't come up with anything.

Thanks in advance!

No after market lifters for the VersaMax but you can send yours to Jeff at C-Rums to have the fork filled in and extended, its money well spent.

Thanks, GunCat! I'll definitely give it a try.

Do they make it less reliable? I heard there were some feeding issues with modified loading gates.

I too have heard of issues with some do it yourself jobs. There is more too it than just welding up the groove in the end of the part. Both the length and angle need to be correct for reliable feeding. I've had C-Rums modified lifters in the VersaMax, Benelli M2 and SBE, Beretta 1301, Mossberg 930 and Stoeger 3000 and never had any issues. I've also had the TTI (Taran Butler's) replacement M2 lifters. All have fit and worked flawlessly.
