Are there any red dots which can be mounted to the M4 rail that will allow you to view the iron sights?

try one of the mini redots on the market without a riser. Bushnell makes a mini dot thats very inexpensive and has a very good track record.

Without a riser you should be able to pick up your irons in the bottom third of the optic.

I can tell you what doesn't work - I had an Aimpoint T-1 in a LaRue LT-661 low mount and I could not use the irons on my M4.

I might try a Vortex SPARC in the low mount.

The bushnell comes in what I would call a "no mount" configuration, if thats not low enough to see your sights you'll would be hard pressed to find something that does.

I would take the m4 to your local gun shop, most will let you finger tight the red dot on your gun and test for sight picture.
