I have noticed that some guns come with tactical choke tubes and some guns come in cylinder bore. What do I need to shoot buck and slugs?

Slugs, you need cylinder.  Buckshot, opinion is divided.  Most say cylinder.  I shoot mine full.

Most of the tighter patterning loads, such as Federal 00 buck w/FliteControl wad and Hornady TAP pattern better through a CYL bore. Slugs perform better with slight constriction and I/C is generally considered to be ideal.

Choke tubes give you options.

Options are good.

Tubes can loosen unexpectedly. Still, I choose tubes.

Tubes can also rust into place or be hammer peened into the barrel threads.
I have some special choke tube removers and still have guys bringing guns to me to have the choke tubes turned out of the barrels and the threads refreshed.

I like a fixed improved cylinder choking on a combat shotgun
