My old 20" 870 Wingmaster is a retired PD gun. I'm trying to date it by the barrel code, and mine is just stamped 67, could it be that simple? there are no letters, just the two numbers.

Call Remington and ask for someone who can look up your serial number.
I did this for a retired 870 and found the shotgun receiver was dated 1968 and the barrel 1964.
