| I was needing a breaching gun but I wasn't really willing to mess around with my 870. This made for a cheap alternative to buying a pistol gripped gun (most are going for around $350 around here) and if nothing else it gave me a good way to waste part of an afternoon haha. |

Make sure that you don't have to do any paperwork for turning it in to a pistol. 1) A shotgun can't legally be turned into a pistol. If it's ever had a shoulder stock on it, it is a shotgun, not a handgun (or firearm made from shotgun, or an AOW, or anything else). 2) As long as the barrel is >18" and the OAL is > 26", there is no need to worry about an NFA tax stamp. 3) Unlike MI, WV doesn't have a silly law that says a firearm < 31" is to be considered a handgun for carry purposes. |

That barrel looks a little shorter than 18"? Sorry for the delayed response. Measuring the inside of the barrel with the bolt forward it comes out to just under 18 1/4". The first cut I did made for a little over 20 inch barrel, it just so worked out that I could take off another 2 inches and have it line up with the mount for the rib. |

Totally forgot I live in the only state with that law. Just looking out for the OP. |

I did the same with a $140 pawn shop 500 I found. It's a hand full of fun to shoot, hold on. My JIC project |
