What's you guys take on this?  There's a member who added a forend strap to his Surefire forend, and I'm thinking of doing the same.  Is there any down side to a forend strap?

It gets in the way and can easily be caught on things.

I've never used one, so disregard my opinion, but I could see it causing some issues with snagging. But the theory is good.

I put a strap on the SpeedFeed forend on my 11.5" 870 SBS, but only so I don't accidently blow my hand off.

Well, since I didn't get an explosive DON'T DO IT!!!, I went ahead and installed a forend strap.  Came out pretty good. Three of the four holes were drilled perfectly, the other was off a tad, but I'm pleased with the results.

I also took a pick of the factory stock that I shortened.

LOP is now 13 1/2".  I cut an inch off the factory stock, and sanded the factory buttpad to match.  If I do another, I'll probably go for a 13" LOP, but this one is pretty good.
