So i traded for a M1 Field awhile ago and had some issues with feeding/ejecting and am getting around to fixing them. Got a reduced power spring from Brownells in a effort to resolve some of the issues. My problem is i cannot get the freaking bolt that threads into the tube so i can swap out the springs. I have tried PB blaster and other things but this bolt will not budge. The nut is getting messed up in my frustration.
Anyone got ideas or have actually done this and if its only mine that is this stubburn? Thanks. |

The recoil spring tube is Loctited into the receiver and the stock retaining screw (on the end of your recoil spring tube) is also Loctited in place. You'll need to apply heat to either spot to unscrew anything.
Also - Double check that stock retaining screw to make sure there is not a pin through it and the spring tube that will keep the screw from turning. |

Good luck. I stuck mine in a vice, heated it, and really put some ass into it and the whole fucking tube came off from the reciever but the nut never budged. Which one? Hooker? Blow? Dude, everybody knows that blow can't hold a shotgun. You can stick one in a hooker though. |
