There are excellant shotguns, I have two of them.  All of CZUSA's shotgun are made by Huglu.  I have a CZ Mallard (28" BBL) which has dual triggers and extractors and my other is a CZ Redhead (26" BBL) which has a single trigger and ejectors.  I've shot trap and sporting clays with both, but prefer the Redhead with its single trigger.  Shooting a double trigger gun for sporting clays is a PIA.

Just picked up a 20 ga Canvasback.   So far so good.

www.shotgunworld.com has an entire section devoted to them.  Guys over there seem to love them.  Be aware there is a lot of snobbery in the o/u world.  Most won't even consider an o/u until its the the thousand dollar mark.

I have a CZ Mallard as well and have shot singles trap and 5 stand with it so far.  The fit and finish is pretty impressive for a $500 O/U (on mine at least).  The double triggers take some getting used to for sure.

i beg your pardon. If you are shooting consistently, get something you know will last. There is nothing wrong with a good used over and under if you can't afford a new one. The expression "you get what u pay for" would be applicable as far as new O/U shotties go. There is no way the huglu is in the same league as a browning or even a red label. The resale value stinks as well. Do yourself a favor and get a good used gun to start with. You can always trade up if you have something some other guy wants. Plenty of guys want the Browning...huglu, not so much.
