I've just heard of their compensation job and am considering it for my Mossberg 590.
Could someone with personal experience give me their input on the subject? Thanks! MF |

I sent an 870P down to him for the back bore, and comp., also to install LPA sights, and park. the shotgun I'm extremely happy with the results, the grouping of 00 buck is impressive, the recoil reduction gets me back on target quicker. I would recommend him without reservation. Gratuitous picture of shotgun. |

I assume you are asking about the whole VCS system rather then just the ports.
It works best with higher pellet count loads (12 pellet 2-3/4 00BK, 16 pellet 2-3/4 1BK, etc). The results are quite impressive and almost in the realm of the 8 and 9 pellet premium loads. If you were just asking about the ports, it seems to have as much effect as a compensated 45ACP. That is to say the effect is subtle. |

Even if that's the case, the reduced muzzle climb and muzzle flash would be a big plus. |

One of the things that results in smaller patterns in 00 buck and smaller is the back boring that Hans does as part of his package. This allows the shell to open up completely with less deformation of the pellets. I've seen Hans take two shotguns one back bored and ported and other not, he fired 00buck at two side by side targets, the target with the shotgun he had worked on had a significantly smaller group size. Take a look at the pattern tests on his website. I have no affiliation with Hans, but he did let me use one of his shotguns to finish a tactical shotgun class when my Benelli blew a piston |
