My 1300 Defender is double feeding shells. One is in the chamber and the other has popped out of the mag tube and is below the bolt causing a major jam to where disassembly is needed to get the stuck shells out. This happens with only 4 shells in the 7 rd tube.
Thoughts? Where would I send it to have it looked at since Winchester is no longer making them? This was going to be my HD shotgun but now I'm having second thoughts about it. |

They are made in Turkey now, called the Super X Pump.

Hard to diagnose from the limited information. Have you given it a good clean and lube to make sure the shell retainer is not sticking or possibly damaged? 1300 has been cleaned. It has not been shot at all yet. I bought it a couple of years ago and it has been sitting in the safe and I decided to load some Federal tactical 00 buck in it to test the action and the problem occurred. I loaded four shells in the mag tube and had the action closed. When I pump the action to the rear the first shell extracted from the mag tube onto the elevator. When I close the action and after the first shell enters the barrel and the elevator returns down is when the second shell comes out of the mag tube and then is jammed between the elevator and the bolt. So I have a closed bolt with one shell in the chamber and the next shell is already ejected and it locks everything up to where I cannot open the action to eject the first shell. I have to take out the trigger assembly to get all the other shells out. Happened every time I tried it. I saw on Winchester's site they have a reapir form I can fill out to send the 1300 to them for repairs. |
