Took the Mossberg 930 SPX put today and did some drills shooting steel. I also decided to confirm my zero for slugs and pattern my 00 buckshot load for referance. Distances were measured in my own "paces" because I don't have a rangefinder. Longest distance in my house is 8 paces, and for those of you who did not get orienteering merit badge in Boy Scouts a pace =/= a step. My pace is 5' give or take an inch or two.
Here is the buckshot patterns at 3 distances. Load was Estate (Federal) standard 2.75" 9 pellett 00 buckshot. 
Here is some slug shooting, Federal low recoil Tru-Balls. (don't mind the pistol shooting holes and lead splatter from the steel targets) 
On a side note, the only failures I have had with this gun are failures to feed. Every now and then a shell gets stuck halfway in and halfway out of the magazine tube. Would a better magazine spring and follower help this? The gun is past it's break-in period but still has the FTF every 150 rounds or so (with heavy loads). |

I replaced my follower with this and everything seemed to be a little smoother. This may help
