| I want to get a used 20ga O/U for skeet, trap and maybe some hunting. I am looking to spend $750 - $1000 (I would like to staycloser to $750.) So far I have looked into Ruger Red Labels, Browning Citoris, and CZ's line. I know I don't want the CZ after looking at them. Any other suggestions. I may just save for a while longer and buy a Browning Belgium Superposed 12. Not quite sure yet. |

Closer to the $1K (or little less if you get lucky) and you'll soon find a Browning or Beretta. Check GunBroker.com. Shotgunworld forums, etc. and your local clay target clubs.
The differences in a $1000 B gun vs. a $600-$700 CZ, Stoeger, Huglu, etc. are much more that the pure $$$. Trust me, you'll not regret spending the extra bucks if you shoot the gun much at all (or decide to sell it later) |

What Beretta models are available used for around a k? The 686 will be the most common model around that price, but you never know when a Skeet shooter will have a bad (score) day and be ready to unload a $2K + gun for a bargain price so he can get the next model sure to cure all his ails
Here is a 12ga in GA and here is a 20ga |

If you are going to use the gun for the above sports, make sure that the 686 has the sporting stock on it.
The stock is thick in the pistol grip area, and a bit thicker in the width as well over the field models. As for the different models of sporting stocks, the back ends (butt stocks) are the same, but the forearms are different. In the sporting clay guns, the forearms are thinner, while in the trap and skeet models, they have the wider beaver tail forearms. |
