Dunhams has the Chi-com coach gun on sale this week for $239, I have been looking at them, they are not the prettiest guns, but all I'm worried about is function. BTW these have hammers.

So, I'd like to hear input from those of you that have one.

I bought a some of those from Dunhams as I and an ffl dealer and I own a Security Company and provide Security Officers to them.  So the price they gave me was less then Dealer price from my distributors so I got four of the 12 ga ones and two of the 20ga ones listed them on an auction site........ the first guy had the vent rib blow off his during a Cowboy shoot.  The second one had a bad trigger.  The Third one was only used as a Wall hanger and John Kennedy cavered the Wellsfargo stage on it and it was present to a Wellsfargo bank and has never been fired.  the forth one had the extractor jaming the weaopn ( these do not have ejcetors, just extractors ) and was sent back and they would repair it but not pay shipping back to them......no here is the worst part.   The warrenty starts when it leaves the factory, not when you buy it.  the first one that had the vent rib blow off was three days out of warrenty when I got it from Dunhams but the other three still had nine months to go...... there were no issue with the two 20ga ones.   I will never deal in junk like that again not matter what the profit margin.

Yeah, that's whit I figured. They have the Stoeger on sale as well for $339, a local dealer has some for $300 out the door, but he has no 12 gauges.

I have seen on here reference to getting a Stevens/Savage 311, and choping the bbls off. I have no problem cutting the bbls myself(to 18.5" of course), but will they need silver soldered together after cutting?

Ask your dealer if he can order it for you. They will probably have no problem ordering one for you.

I would have a good smith do it regardless of how many barrels. If you decide to get a Stevens 311, you can send it to GunCat (has done many barrels for ARFCOMers - he can also install chokes). Its worth it to me to send it off to someone who knows what they are doing (on more difficult projects anyways) and has done it many times before instead of trying it yourself and hoping you get it right.

I bought one of the 20 gauge models last year and so far have had no problems. I have probably shot about 3 boxes of field loads through it in total so not much of a torture test. These little guns look rough but mine has been fun. I have heard some bad things about the 12 gauge version but not really much about the 20. Mostly it does possum/armadillo defense duty at deer camp and is hell on empty coleman fuel cans....that is really what I got it for and all I expect.

However, I am looking at one of these Remington SPR Hammer Coachgun

I have heard that the Spartan is g2g.

From looking at the video, I would polish the chamber to help the shells slide out easily
