I am leaving in the hour for S.C. to shoot deer and pigs, hopefully. Had a hard time picking out what guns were coming on the trip with me. When I opened the safe they were like little kids sceaming pick me, pick me. After soul searching I picked the Remington 7400 30-06, Ruger original .44 Mag carbine and a Mossberg .410 pump. The .410 has a pistol grip on it and I am going to carry it to my stand in my back pack instead of a handgun. I will be back at the end of the week. MIKE.

I hope that your trip is successful!

I carry a pistol (.357 mag. 10mm or .44 mag) when hunting, primarily to serve as a "coup de grace" tool if needed.

Is that your intention with the .410?  Loaded with slugs, I presume?

(Please don't tell me that you shoot poisonous snakes that you can move or kill (only if necessary) with a stick)....

Bud, Yes, my original intent was to shoot any snake that I saw with the .410. But after seeing several snakes I now know that shooting them is unnessary. You see we can learn. Plus I was not allowed to carry two firearms to the stands. MIKE.
