I picked up a 930 spx a little while ago for $520 off gunbroker.  I knew I would probably have to deal with a canted front sight as all the local stores had 930's with the front sight issue.   Well low and behold the gun I got off gunbroker looked a little canted.  I took it out today and was unable to zero it at 50 yards with slugs even with the rear adjusted all the way left.

I called mossberg and was Immediately talking to someone in CS.  A fed-ex call tag was issued and they want the whole gun back.  They would not just ship me a barrel.  They said they had a problem with the front sights being installed incorrectly by LPA in Italy and that they are now getting them done correctly (no shit, for at least a year now).  Said the turn around time was 3-4 weeks.

Time will tell...  Besides the sight issue, this shotgun is a fricken blast to shoot.  Digested everything from cheap walmart bird shot to S&B, Federal, Winchester full power loads and reduced recoil loads.

Hopefully mossberg will do me right

Mossberg will do you right.  I just took a new one out of the box through LFI II, wow.  At least 4 folks are ordering them.  You are lucky to have one..

I hope your warranty experience is better than mine. I have been fighting with Mossberg for a properly sighted barrel since early may.

I haven't even bothered to call them about mine. I am going to wait until I hear enough people getting theirs corrected, then worry about it. Luckily I was able to get mine sighted at 50yd with slugs. Even had a bit of windage left. Figure I might be able to score just the barrel in the coming months once Mossberg gets their shit together.

The 930 SPX has jumped to the top of my list and my USAF son's list as fave guns to shoot. For the price, it's hard to find a better price/value deal on a reliable and killer-lookin' 12-gauge autoloader. Mossberg will take care of it, it just might take a while.

i just picked mine up for 520 on GB too! I noticed the front sight was canted.  Called mossberg and requested Juan, the supervisor.

I told him I wanted a new barrel shipped to me.  He agreed and said it would go out monday.  When I get the new barrel, I will send the old one back.

you can't let these people walk over you!

Happily, the gun shot about 150 3 dram game loads out of the box without one problem!

I just bought one a week or so  ago. Ate every thing I feed it and was a blast to shoot. I well be sighting it in with in the next couple of weeks. By looking at it I can't tell if the front sight is canted or if its just me, Any sure way to tell?

I just got a 930 SPX and shot it today.  I love the shotgun but the rear windage is almost ran all the way to the left and that is for 25 yds.  My eyes are screwy since I have had a medical situation so I can not tell if the sight is canted or not.   +1 on a sure way to tell for sure?

If you have a vise thats level, or another way to steady the shotgun so that the receiver is level, the front sight should be level too.
