| I have a Winchester 1300 that is having feed problems. It will occasionally pop two shells from the tube when I am cycling the action. Obviously 2 cant load at once, and it is difficult to push the extra shell back in. Does anyone have any advice on any parts to check? Is this a common problem with this model? |

I've shot these guns for years, I haven't had that happen. Maybe there is something not letting the shell latches work the way they should or one is bent? Item 48 and 49 on this page http://www.midwestgunworks.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=winchester-model-1300-parts |
Have you taken it apart and cleaned it fully? I just bought a used FN Police pump shotty (just a re-branded 1300) and it was doing the same thing when I brought it home, loaded up 7 dummy shells in the tube and cycled it. I took it apart, sprayed down the trigger group with WD40, blew it out with compressed air and then oiled lightly with CLP. Now it runs fine.

I took the forearm off so I could see the action work through the feed port. When I did this I could see the problem. The shell stopper that keeps the other shells back was popping under the pump slide, and therefore not being pushed out. The problem was intermittent because it was cause from the pump and slide rails being torqued away from be as I pump. Since nothing was worn, I bent up the tab slightly ad now cant get it to fail no matter how hard I twist the pump.
I guess I didn't need to buy a Beneli M1 to replace it after all.....haha |
