I need help finding a mossberg 930 SPX. I know they have some on gunbroker but they are overpriced. Any help would be appreciated.

You and the rest of us need help.  I have my shop with two on order that have my name on them and I have been waiting for 1.5 months now and still now word on when they will get them.  All the ones I have found online or at the funshow are way way overpriced.  Until I am willing to pay premium I am going to lay and wait on my shop to get them in.

If you are lucky enough to have a Dick's Sporting Goods near where you live, that is your best bet.  Most folks I know have found their SPX at Dick's for <$600.  I picked mine up last year in early December and got it for around $580 out-the-door, IIRC.

Dick's will do a store-to-store transfer for you (at least they have ordered stuff in for me in the past).  Find out which store local to Gripgc8 has them and ask your local to request one from them.  Also, you may be able to just go in to your local Dick's and ask them to get one for you from another store.  They may be able to pull up inventory and get one for you that way.

My local dick's has one for $619. If someones local dick's has them selling for less can you please send me the phone # to the store so my dick's will match the price. I heard some dick's sell them for less.  thanks

Most of the time, Dick's has been selling the SPX for $599 regular price.  Often, you can get them on sale, or rarely with a coupon, for as low as around $569.  I have not seen one in stock at my local store for over a month and the last one I did see was $599.

My advice to you is...if you can get one for $619...BUY IT BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE DOES!!!  That is not a bad price at all and getting one is worth a few extra dollars as compared to letting it go to someone else to save $20 or so.  I know that $20 is $20...but still...

How hard would it be to upgrade a 930 to an SPX

I avoided Dick's Sporting Goods and didn't find a 930 SPX for two months.  As soon as I walked into a Dick's Sporting Goods nearbye, I brought a 930 SPX home with me!

The Dick's near me doesn't even have them mentioned in their books. It's like they don't even know that model exists.

Yep, rrarms has some in stock. Not sure how often the website gets updated. I put an email alert from rrarms about 1 month ago and i got email back that they are avaialble but i found one from somewhere else.

That's funny, I went to the Dick's in Sterling, VA, they didn't have any 930 SPX's in stock.  I asked about ordering one, they showed me a catalog, which didn't have that shotgun listed.  They said that they couldn't order it and that their store doesn't carry any 'tactical' shotguns.  What's up with that?

If you can find a HS model the only difference is the sights.  The HS just has a bead.  A good set of sights and having them installed is probably going to cost more than the difference in the price between the two.  HOWEVER...I don't like the sights on the SPX, too high, and intend to install a lower profile set on my HS.

Ended up finding one at dick's for $619. I bought 2 gift cards on ebay for around $500 with a total of $609 and I had a coupon for $20 off 100 from the entertainment book. So with tax I ended up paying around $530 out the door.

Are these any good ? My local gun shop has 3 for $579. Was thinking of picking one up BUT I'm only familiar with Benelli's and 11-87's, got rid of my 11-87's for Benelli's, couldnt stand the gas system of the 11-87. How is the gas system of this 930 ? Could some one post some picx of a 930 gas system.

Can someone tell me if you have to hold down the bolt release button to free the loading gate? I want to replace my 9200a1 because the loading gate lock just irritates me.

As long as the bolt is CLOSED the loading gate works freely without having to push the bolt release button. If the bolt is locked open, the loading gate is also locked. The bolt needs to be closed to load the tube. HTH

Not only does it not lock the gate, you can ghost load the SPX as well.
