| building an 870, decided to go with a ghost ring setup in an attempt to avoid mr. murphy and dead batteries. would like tritium inserts, and i was wondering if i should go for a mount with the protective 'wings' on it. |

I have been using these for a few years on my 870p to great effect.
I don't see the need for the protective wings, however they couldn't hurt. |

I have had no problems with movement or loss of zero on my Trijicons with around 1000 shells through my gun. I'm sure the Trijicon/Scattergun sights would suit you well, however there isn't anything wrong with the shielded ghost rings either.
