I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on a nice low priced shotgun mount for a Maglite 2AA mini or Surefire G2.  The integrated Surefire mounts are too expensive for me and there must be a decent mount for ~$20 that will fit on the mag tube.

Thanks,

Chris

I used a piece of inexpensive rail w/#5 wood screws (cut down) & a springfield G2 mount; total cost minus light around $20; make sure you get the mount for the G2, (1") light. They make one for a stinger that is smaller. YMMV

Go on ebay, get a UTG mount, use a 1" scope ring on the G2.

Something like this?Had most the parts from an AR I sold.I originally had a GG&G 1" light mount but it wasn't up to the task.I also used the exisiting Speedfeed forend.

Parts used:
-MI short rail
-Leupold 1" low scope rings
-Speedfeed forend
-Surefire 6P LED
-tape switch from brightflashlights.com
-Q5 lamp from brightflashlights.com

I simply milled the forend flat with a router to except the MI rail.I drilled holes smaller then the screws(this should be obvious).I found some coarse thread panhead screws and cut then down to fit.I also used the screws to cut the threads in the polymer. The screws were then Super Blued.I screwed the mount on using JB weld on the threads and the underneath of the screw heads.Basicaly fused the screws to the rail.Rock solid. The switch and bulb are new upgrades yet to be tested but the light and the mount have seen about 1500 shells and holds up great.I can say this-the new bulb is bright and the switch activates perfectly, thanks to Kevin at brightflashlights.com

I originally had the light mounted like this.

The new set-up.

Not the cheapest way you can go but it's just another option and it was fun to do.

Outstanding..... I wanted to do something like the above but witha picatinny rail.  I have a Surefire X300 on a LaRue mount.

Mounting the rail is pretty easy.I used a trim router with a 1/4" straight cutting bit.I made a small jig to keep the cuts straight. The best thing to use wouldbe a router table with a fence. You just need to rig something to keep the forend to stay square to the table.

I'm a professional woodworker so what I may think is easy may be harder for others. But it's something anyone can do if they take their time.

Looks like a solid mount. I was thinking of doing something similar. Any pics of the shotgun as a whole? or of the backside of the handguard (where it contacts the barrel)?

Is there an option for the shotgun like the Cletus is for the AR?

A mount on rail?
