Is it a plastic follower? I have heard of plastic followers becoming deformed as they pass back and forth over the joint where the mag extension meets the mag tube. If your only noticing it when loading your 6th round it sounds like it may be the problem. Break down your shotgun and check that the mag extension is not cross threaded and it's fully tightened down. Also inspect the follower for excessive wear or plastic being shaved off, if it is replace it with a metal follower. |

Its not the follower catching, its the shell rim. The remington factory mag extention sometimes leaves a small gap between the end of the mag tube and the start of the mag extention tube. a shell rim can catch in that gap. Remove the entire mag extention. seperate the mag etention tube and mag extention nut. Install just the nut as tight as you can by hand. Then screw the ext tube into the nut until it snugs up against the mag tube. Dont screw it in too far or you can damage one or both. That may fix your problem. If that doesnt work try a wislon combat follower. If neither of those things work sell the factory mag extension and buy a wilson combat or vang comp mag extention. |
