I recently acquired an 11-87 that has been in storage for quite some time. Problem is, storage was a foam eggshell gun case in a humid climate. Needless to say some of the parts have developed some surface rust and even with a good clean up/oiling, the gun will no longer cycle. In most cases it will eject the empty shell but will not pick up a new one or, if it does pick up a new one, it won't go into full battery. I'm planning on ordering some new parts for a "refresh" of types. I figure at a minimum I should replace the action spring and piston/piston seal assembly. Is there anything else that I should replace???

Bump...

Doesn't anybody have an in-depth knowledge of the 11-87?

Probably a good idea to repalce the magazine spring - clean out the mag. tube and follower while you are in there too.

Check the hammer spring, sear spring and carrier latch spring (all in the trigger group) and the firing pin spring for signs of rust. Replace those if needed.

Schematic in case you need it

I looked at the schematics also.Without looking at your gun it's hard to say what it might need.I guess I'd start with all the springs you can replace. The problem may be some where in your trigger plate assembly. You might want to replace the barrel seal, piston and piston seal.

It's hard to say without seeing it.Got any pictures?"Surface rust" to you might mean complete FUBAR to me.

Have you broke the gun completely down and cleaned the shit out of it?
