| I am having an issue with my 870, the last two times I have been out shooting. First time I thought it might have been the ammo but a friend of mine fired the same issue with no problems. When firing the first round or two will fire without issue but then I when i chamber the next round and pull the trigger I get nothing, like the gun never cocked. Rack the slide and still same issue. Empty all the rounds and dry fire and it clicks everytime. It's gonna go get looked at just was wondering if any of you knew the possible cause before hand. |

Update Well I finally had enough time off to tinker with my 870 and determined the problem. I didn't have the problems until after I replaced the factory stock with a Wilson Combat stock. I believe the problem was with the screw that attaches the stock to the receiver. I think the screw was preventing the bolt from coming back far enough to cock the hammer effectively. I grabbed one of my empty cartridges and tried to see if the hammer would drop and it wouldn't. (I tried it with an empty because even when out there the days it malfunctioned dry firing worked every time). I took off the Wilson stock and put the original back on (glad I didn't sell it) and after I made sure I had the original back on right I grabbed the empty and tried multiple cycles and it worked perfectly. So I now have the Wilson sitting off to the side and wrote them an e-mail earlier today explaining the problem. Hopefully it will all get worked out. |
| Ya I was thinking about just adding another washer, I contacted them and they said they had never heard of the issue that I am having so that didn't help much. Im taking it out after christmas to get some shooting done and may wind up putting the collapsible stock back on afterwards, or possibly that day depending. |
