As many of you know, the model 11 is basically a Auto-5, but the early versions had different safeties.  Does anyone know of any dealers who specialize or who might have parts for the OLD Model 11 shotguns with the forward slider safety and not the cross bolt safety?

I'm trying to repair my fathers, and it's the safety that I'm needing the parts for and having a hard time finding.

thanks

I don't know, you could start with Numrich/e-gunparts  and Sarco. You would probably be better off looking for a broken or decrepit complete shotgun as a donor gun.

I'll have to dig mine out to be sure , but I think mine has a crossbolt safety, not the one that slides forward in the trigger guard.

My older Browning Auto-5 has the slider, but it's one of my favorite guns and I'm not parting it out.

Off topic/ Have you detail stripped it yet ? I blew a whole day putting mine back together

They all list the cross-bolt safety part.  I've sent most of the big name dealers like this emails, but I don't expect much luck

The thought has crossed my mind.

The older Browning Auto-5's had the forward sliding safety as well?  I didn't know that, this could make it easier on me then.

To be honest, it's been about 4 years since I detailed stripped my fathers gun as I've been in school.  I'm to the point where I'm moving away and I want to refurbish this firearm for him as I know it has alot of sentimental value to him.  But getting it apart may be a choir this time, this was his hunting gun which he used frequently and rarely cleaned.
