Ok shotgun enthusists

For my birthday today I'm headin to the fun store Tuesday am, because the are closed on Monday and ordering a Mossberg 500. I don't have the cash for a Remmington. But that is OK with me.

Questions:
1. what is the best low recoil load for a 12ga.?, yes I'm a bitch and don't want my shoulder to hurt after 3 rounds.

2. and where can I get those niffty little side shell holders that go on the buttstock?

thanx

I'm no Mossy fan, but you could certainly do worse than a nice M500.

For practice and familarity use the cheap WalMart low brass loads with smaller shot. All major US ammo manufacturers now make low recoil Buck and slugs that you should be able to find at various vendors sites advertised in tha Industry Forum here on ARFCOM. If you cannot find any, WalMart or any decent sporting goods store should have some standard 2 3/4in. Buck / slugs that will get the job done for you but with about 25-30% more recoil.

FWIW A 870 EXPRESS RUNS AROUND $200 NIB FROM MOST BIG RETAILERS

SHOP AROUND YOU MAY BE SUPRISED

500'S ARE FINE SHOTGUNS AS WELL I OWN BOTH. JUST SEEMS TO BE MORE OPTIONS FOR UPGRADES WITH THE 870 DESIGN AS YOU ARE ABLE TO CHANGE TUBE CAPACITY IN A SNAP AND NOT SO EASY WITH THE 500.

Sorry for the Caps.
