I have run a search here and found no reference and haven't had any luck on teh google.

My FIL has given me a nice like new Savage Model 750 12 gauge auto-loader.

It appears to be built on Browning patent.

Nothing fancy but seems to be a nice overall shotgun.  I am not really interested in value since it was a gift from his collection and I have no reason to sell it.

I will need to approximate value for insurance purposes.

Does anyone know the history of the Model 750?

I have found a Model 755 online but it is a totally different gun with a different profile.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Here's Gun Parts page on the Savage 750.  Click on the schematic to expand it.

The Savage 750 was a Browning patent shotgun, made by Savage from 1960 to 1967.
There were three versions of it:
The 750 with 26" or 28" barrels and various chokes.
The 750SC with the Savage "Super Choke".
The 750AC with a poly choke.

My Blue Book of Gun Values is an old one but many book stores will have newer editions in stock for you to check.
My old one list the 750 at "about" $300 in brand new condition.
