It's a Winchester 1300 Defender, wood stock, 18", 8 shell capacity. Very solid shotgun.
I'll have some good ol' cell phone quality pics up here soon, if anyone cares.

The gun shoots great so far, I've been doing a lot of skeet.

It seems like a practical home defense weapon, what do you guys think?

I'm an 870 guy from way back, but you could certainly have done much worse than the 1300. It is a very nice shotgun and I think you will be happy with it. The only drawback...if you consider it one...is that there are not a lot of aftermarket add-ons made for the 1300. Personally, the only one I think you might want / need for HD is a SureFire fore end light assembly, but I tend to be a minimalist with my shotguns.

I'm definatly a minimalist myself. I might want a night sight of some kind and a sling, that's about it.

By the way... do you know of any night sights available for this particular shotgun?

Wow this thing is extremely simple and easy to take down. Do 870's have a similar set-up?
